About the Music

In addition to the day job, I am a singer/songwriter who favors the acoustic guitar. I write original music and my music can be described as contemporary folk with elements of Jazz and Rock. Here's a bit of Q&A on the music.

Q: Who influences your music?

A: Hmmm, too many to list. Here are some of the more influential ones as of late. Simon and Garfunkel - especially Paul Simon - are a huge one. Absolutely fantastic songwriting and musicianship. The Graceland album is one of my all time favorite albums. Another excellent singer-songwriter is Richard Julian. Highly recommend his stuff for those interested in witty, intelligent music. There's this Canadian band called The Tea Party that I like, specifically their older stuff. Some other big ones: Eric Clapton, Counting Crows, Santana, etc...

Q: So what kind of music can I expect?

Well, have a listen! I like to mix things up from complex acoustical finger picking to strum-alicious goodness. Lyrical topics range from zany sarcastic insight to brooding introspection, all with a little dash of the inane. Whew, good luck deciphering that.

Q: Are you still performing?

I used to play in a band in Montreal before heading off to university. When I first arrived in Austin, I went through a phase were I was playing guitar and singing a lot, but mostly playing for friends. I go through phases where I'm guitar crazy and then leave it be for a while. It depends on which phase I'm in.

Home Recordings Demo

This demo features four original songs recorded via my home computer in my apartment shortly after moving to Austin. This was some of my first experimenting with some older multi-tracking software. All vocals and guitar (all tracks) are performed by yours truly. Mixing as well (probably the weakest part of these tracks). If you like these songs or want to provide feedback, please send an email my way. Enjoy.
